Winter Etiquette at The Building

Winter is officially here, and if this is your first time experiencing a Canadian one, welcome to the adventure.

A few simple habits can make life easier for you and everyone in the building.

  • Shake off snow before coming inside: Give your boots and jackets a quick shake outside the main entrance. It helps keep floors dry and prevents slippery hallways.
  • Use the boot mats: Leave the hallway clear and keep all wet boots and shoes inside your unit. It keeps common areas safe and tidy.
  • Don’t leave doors propped open: It lets cold air in and can cause pipes or heating systems to work overtime.
  • Watch out for slush: If you track in snow or water, wipe it up or let management know so nobody slips.
  • Be patient with elevators and entrances: Everyone moves a bit slower with winter gear on. Give people space and hold doors when you can. 😁
  • Store winter gear properly: Keep skis, sleds, and big winter items inside your unit instead of in hallways or stairwells.

These little things make the building safer and more comfortable for everyone. Thanks for doing your part and enjoying winter responsibly.
